Knowledge

In spiritual philosophy knowledge is considered to be of two types:

Worldly or relative knowledge, which is the process of subjectification of external objective reality;
Intuitive or psycho-spiritual knowledge, defined as the absorption of the mind into existential subjectivity, or universal consciousness.

Sei Raggi del Progresso

Relative Knowledge is realised through the five sense organs, aided by increasingly sophisticated technological tools. The benevolent intellect has to process, rationalise and systematise it. This kind of knowledge is called relative or changeable as it is subject to change caused by the three relativising factors of time, space and person.

The benevolent intellect is built by the constant choice of cardinal human values, codified for millennia by sages all over the world. The ideal ethic has universal validity, and its principles are clearly described in the book "A Guide to Human Conduct" by Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar.

Every human being seeks a meaning, a direction in which to walk. The level of purity and the qualities that our mind is able to develop determine our awareness both of the spiritual awakening importance and mental balance.

Shrii P.R. Sarkar in A Guide to Human Conduct

Intuitive or absolute knowledge is obtained solely and exclusively by expanding with the help of spiritual science one's psychic substance, or ectoplasm. To summarise this process of knowledge in terms of spiritual science, it involves sublimating matter into mind and mind into consciousness.

Through regular and vigorous bio-psychological, meditative and spiritual practice, human beings achieve sublimation of their various levels, from the coarse to the subtle, and, finally, attain union with the Self, their true I. Self-realisation is transcendental knowledge of the mind. Self-realisation is transcendental knowledge, a state of mystical bliss, and goes beyond the limits of time, space and person.

In order to achieve this collectively, and not just individually, Shrii P.R. Sarkar suggests that all humanity should follow and realise as soon as possible the so-called six "rays" of physical-psycho-spiritual progress. In fact, in the six "rays" of progress one finds all possible and imaginable hints for both personal and social advancement.

The six rays of progress are:
